Species: Oak, White Quercus alba

White Oak varies in color from pale yellow-brown to biscuit with pinkish tint. Rift sawing produces uniform straight grain from edge to edge. Straight grain, with medium bending and crushing strengths make this excellent steam bending material. Used in everything from boat-building to turnery.
